1st thing to figure out it if the bottle is "Bibley Style" Pictured below is a Bibley Styled Bottle. See how the bottom of the bottle is kinda curves in the middle? It has kinda a kidney shape to it. After you determine if the bottle is a "Bibley Style" you have some more things to check before you can determine if it is Hemiingray or not!

Note: The Coca Cola Ship water bottle is bibley looking but is NOT Hemingray made, nore are the repro Franklins! (More about that in a bit!)

The majorty of Hemingray Water Bottles have stimple here is a close of what that looks like.

A Quick note on color…

The bottle must be Ice Aqua, 7-Up green, Amber or Carnival to be Hemingray. A clear will not be Hemingray

Next thing to look for is embossing on the bottom. If it says "HEMINGRAY" Well that is obviously a Hemingray bottle and you need not do any of the below steps, If it doesn't say Hemingray it still may be one! Some bottles just have a number on the bottom, or no embossing or the Owens Illinois logo ok before you get excited not all Owens Illinois water bottles are Hemingray ;-) Ok how to tell if you have the right Owens Illinois plant code! First you need to know that Hemingray Owens Illinois plant code was 26 for the water bottles so any water bottle with a plant 26 to the LEFT of the "O-I" logo is a Hemingray (See below photo)

This is an example of a NON Hemingray bottle! (See how it has a 25 and not a 26? Good!)

A quick way to check and see if a bottle is Hemingray is look at the bottom, If it has a smaller "Owens" ring it is Not Hemingray! If it has a larger oval ring it probably is Hemingray!

Franklin Repros

The Franklin is a repro of a Hemingray design, they come in some wild colors! Cobalt Blue, Depression Glass Pink, Bright 7-up Green, Ice Aqua! The Franklin is modeled after Hemingrays GE water bottle. ALL Franklin are repros!
