Glass > Lamps > Identifying Lamps

This is where you are right now.You are here. You are here.

Ok first thing is understanding that there are lamps that have some of the "Hemingray charachistics" but are not! After you see a bunch of known Hemingray lamps, you'll get the hang of it!

1st thing that almost all Hemingray lamps have no matter what kind they are (by kind I mean finger lamp footed finger lamp or stand lamp) Is a double grove collar as you can see in the picture. below. This collar is a type 1 collar which most Hemingray lamps have. I have some Hemingray lamps that have a type 2 collar. I have been told that they even come in a type 0 collar! So if you see a lamp that has a collar like the one in this picture. move on to the next step!

2nd Thing that most of the Finger and Footed finger lamps have is a handle. This is one of the easiest ways to tell if you have a Hemi lamp! Hemingray lamps have a "Loopy" handle. Look in the pics below to see what I mean! If the handle looks like this then it is most likely a Hemingray.

3rd thing to look for on a Stand lamp or a Footed finger lamp is a seam. This will be where the bowl and the neck come together. There are NO one piece Hemingray lamps! This will help you weed out the non-Hemingray lamps!
